- State whether the item replaces or adds to a line.
- Compare specifications with the current product.
- Plan the transition between old and new stock.
Illustrative Example
A new lint-roller refill may resemble the existing one but use a different attachment. Treat that as a compatibility change, not a routine replenishment, until it has been checked.
Points to Check
Keep old and new versions distinguishable during the transition. This is particularly important when customers return for matching accessories.
